by Morning Show Producer
A resolution put forward by city councilman Isaac "Yitzy" Schliefer in support of Israel and condemning Hamas failed in the council. Four members voted "no" to the resolution. The move angered many in the Jewish community, Councilman Schliefer calls it a lack of moral clarity.
Stephen J.K. Walters, the chief economist at the Maryland Public Policy Institute, joined Fox 45 Morning News to weigh in.

"They had a chance to condemn Hamas and they didn't do it," Walters said. "Nine of their colleagues had no difficulty whatsoever saying it and they did. I think it reflects a bit of political culture that is affecting the city. This is an extremist view. You want to complicate what happened on October 7th by bringing in the history of everything that happened in the Middle East and that just wasn't relevant."
Walters went on to say he would like the four council members to change their position on the resolution.
