The Center for Business and Economic Competitiveness is focused on mobilizing citizens and lawmakers to support commonsense economic reform in Maryland and enact legislation that creates greater economic freedom and opportunity. The Center will use exhaustive policy research and analysis, as well as top marketing strategies to enact meaningful and achievable free enterprise reform in Maryland.
- Maryland Business Climate Initiative
- The centerpiece of the Maryland Public Policy Institute’s Center for Business and Economic Competitiveness is the Maryland Business Climate Survey. In partnership with the top faculty members from the Jacob France Institute at the University of Baltimore, we are asking businesses across Maryland questions about what and how policy decisions are affecting their business operations. This survey offers a unique opportunity to promote public awareness of key competitiveness issues facing the state. Through the Maryland Business Climate Survey, we are:
- Taking the pulse of our state’s economic vitality to see the direction of Maryland’s economy.
- Understanding key issues impacting the business community.
- Gathering data on businesses overall perception of Maryland as a place to operate and do business.
- Providing lawmakers and citizens with essential information on how the Maryland business community views the overall attractiveness and competitiveness of the state.
